COSMETIC ACUPUNCTURE

We all know that the secret to beautiful skin starts with a healthy diet, good sleep, decent hydration, regular exercise and a balanced lifestyle.  The cumulative pressures of everyday life, sub-optimal feeding habits and a lack of general wellness will rapidly take their toll on the skin, however.  Added to this are other environmental factors such as smoking, exposure to sunlight or air quality itself. The deterioration in the condition of your skin cannot, therefore, be entirely blamed on anno domini alone. Vodafone Chelsea Osteopath

Cosmetic Acupuncture is a very effective means of removing fine lines around the eyes, lips, and nose; deeper lines will generally appear softer too.  Any puffiness under the eyes can be smoothed out and the chin line firmed up.  These effects can often be quite profound, with people being spared the pinch and pull appearances that a surgical “nip and tuck” tends to produce.

Repeated surgery and injections, fillers or Botox will ultimately produce a mask-like appearance, particularly later in life.  This downside is not apparent with Cosmetic Acupuncture, however.  Instead, it is a safe and virtually painless way to restore a smooth, vital and refreshed complexion, with no long-term side-effects.  It is harmless during pregnancy or fertility treatment and fits in well alongside general osteopathic treatment.  As with all acupuncture, however, people might very occasionally experience temporary bruising for a day or so, but this does not reduce the overall effect.

Naturally, the results of Cosmetic Acupuncture can vary.  Usually, however, people will see a more even and glowing complexion, a softening of any wrinkles, diminished puffiness around the eyes, lifting of the jowls and experience a general feeling of lightness in the face.  In fact, in a recent study reported by the International Journal of Clinical Acupuncture, 90% of the 300 participants reported improvements such as these, together with a feeling of overall wellness and rejuvenation.

In practice, people tend to feel better after their initial treatment, but more lasting improvements will take a few visits to consolidate.  Most people then like to come back periodically, every couple of months or so, for a top-up.  While not a quick fix or instant solution, the effects of Cosmetic Acupuncture can be quite pronounced.  People often remark early on that their faces feel much more alive afterwards.  In this way, what is sometimes embarked upon as a form of personal grooming soon contributes to a far broader sense of well-being and contentment.

Although this is a purely cosmetic rather than medical service, it is available to interested members of the general public without the need for a referralFor best results, it is recommended that people attend twice a week for a fortnight and then weekly for two weeks, with a follow up a month later and periodically thereafter.  It there are any other health issues in the background, these can easily be discussed or incorporated at the same time.  Naturally, this takes a little longer than a quick squirt of Botox but with the results being much broader as well as more natural and long-lasting, it makes a very compelling option.  In recognition of the commitment required, special pricing arrangements are in place - please enquire directly for current rates.
