BACK PAIN

Back pain is very common and will cause almost everybody some degree of disability at some point in his or her life. On average, a full-blown episode will result in 19 days of absence from work. Lumbago, or lower back pain, is often the most debilitating variety. If it continues, it will also cause patients to cut back on healthy activities such as sport or exercise. Most people find it stressful and depressing to be in pain. The effects that pain has on peoples' ability to enjoy restorative night's sleep are huge.

Sciatica is the name given to any sort of pain caused by irritation or compression of the sciatic nerve. This is the longest nerve in your body. It runs from the spine through the pelvis, across the buttocks and all the way down the legs, ending in the feet. Numb or tingling toes are often a sign of sciatic irritation.

Pelvic Pain is common during and after pregnancy. It is also becoming much more widely recognised in men as well as women, for a variety of other reasons. Chronic restriction within the pelvic muscles or joints will lead to the development of pain-referring trigger points. There will also be a reduction in the free flow of blood and lymph. This congestion generates an inhospitable environment for the very important and delicate structures contained within the pelvis. Pelvic pain is often a very unrecognized and untreated problem.
